This is a light-hearted podcast with an academic pedigree. Love hearing about the apocrypha as though I’m sitting at the pub over a beer. It’s a great show.
Even having been Orthodox for 20 years, I had never really paid attention to the “extra” books now in my Bible. This podcast is a chance to change that! Joel and Jamey bring out the main points in the text and explain their relevance to our lives, often using commentary from Orthodox Church Fathers. Love the new format interspersing reading by of the text by another of my favorite podcasters, Fr. Alexis Kouri.
Interesting, witty, and informative. Highly recommend.
Bad Books of the Bible is lively, memorable, and joyous. The research is thorough, too.
Just found this podcast from a Gospel Simplicity YouTube video where Ancient Faith radio was mentioned. Currently binging. I will be sad when I catch up, but having fun and learning lots.
