    “Babylon 5 For the First Time” is an ambitious commitment to watch the entirety of Babylon 5 with as little prior exposure as possible and I applaud that. The hosts’ stated goal is to examine each episode through the lens of being fans of the various Star Trek incarnations and use that as a basis for their media criticism.

  • Worse than Season One

    Your season two reviews have been harder to get through than season one. I don’t need two smug dorks to whine about the character driven episodes just because there aren’t enough robots exploding. The show started out all right but it feels like you’re just dumping on S2 to be contrarian.

    The two podcasters approach the series using Star Trek as a lens. This is, at its core, a mistake. It's not the only mistake they make that Babylon 5 is not a series of morality plays, but when they find things, characters do that don't fit into their idea of how a morality play works, they go into detail how they think characters should act.
