  • Let me clear my throat

Good lecture but this guy clears his throat every sentence. Very disturbing. Probably won’t finish it because once you realize it it’s too disturbing.

So many of our institutions and culture were invented in the Greece of this era. Prof Kagan establishes parallels with current events and recent history that show how relevant this is.

  • Outstanding

Donald Kagan is an embodiment of a scholar. Profound knowledge on the subject, versatile interest in general history and ancient languages and his sheer gift for storytelling all make this a unique experience. In his lectures he focuses on the often neglected aspect of history namely human aspirations and ambition. One of the best podcasts/lectures I’ve heard/watched. Worth every minute.
