最初代的TTL閃燈就是從外置測光的A內化而成，僅僅具備A與M功能的閃光燈熱靴都只有單點，在閃光發出時直接以測光晶體收到的反射光多寡控制截斷輸出時間點。

使用酸性急制液時應注意的要點
在顯影與定影之間提供緩衝是很重要的，急制液可以快速終止顯影的作用，並維持定影液不被顯影液污染，但應注意下列二點事項：
1、部份顯液液中可能含有碳酸鈉(鹼劑)，其與酸接觸，會釋放二氧化碳氣體，可能導致乳劑層產生氣泡。
2、常期使用冰醋酸急制液，可能造成呼吸道的健康危害，可改用無氣味的急制液。
使用鹼性定影液的優點
1、較淡的氣味
2、不需海波清潔液，擁有高水洗效率
3、維持整體顯影過程的酸鹼值，有助於底片跟相紙的保存

PYRO黑白負片顯影液通常是指使用焦酚來當作顯影主劑的黑白負片顯影液，亦有使用焦兒茶素來當作顯影主劑的方式。
這種染色型顯影液的特性包括：
1、明顯加強階調邊界產生邊際效應引起的銳利度
2、形成更高的濃度，更長的階調
3、產生階調分離的效果，特別是在高光(亮部)的細節重現
4、使明膠硬化，減少底片劃痕
5、產生漂亮的細顆粒影像
6、產生顏色濾鏡，由於光譜特性，變的適合在明膠銀銀與古典印相工藝中(鉑鈀印相、氰版、棕版等)使用

雙浴黑白顯影液是利用顯影試藥的功能組成，將顯影主劑與顯影促進劑(鹼劑)分開成二道溶液使用，已曝光的黑白負片在A液(顯影主劑)中，將不產生金屬還原反應(弱酸)，或產生很少的金屬還原反應(微鹼)，在底片明膠層已經吸滿A液之後，將底片移置B液(顯影促進劑)中，此時開始快速產生還原反應，在高光部位A液會先行消耗完，而停止反應，但暗部因A液尚未用完，會持續作用。這樣的方式可以抑制高光的發展，增加暗部的細節。
