I’ve taken up rucking recently and thought I would give this podcast a try while going on a ruck. I endured 2 of them ok but it was the interview with “Photographer” Tim Galloway, that broke me.. I honestly feel I lost some brain cells after hearing a man say the word shadowing 487 times. I don’t know who uses the word LIKE more often, the host or his guest…. That being said it is an activity where people hike/walk under load. A caveman would have been great at it.
Listening to the Bragg Heavy podcast with Topher what’s his name. What a d-bag. Opposite of what GORUCK is about. Talks like he has served. Curious if he has.
Not impressed
I’m loving this podcast. As someone who lives really far from any GoRuck events, listening to this podcast is a way I get stoked!
Super funny podcast with a hint of actual sports sprinkled in. Love how the show concentrates on the sports in the Bay Area. Listen in!!!
From ADR’s podcast, website and products, as well as everything behind Charity Challenges, it is abundantly clear how much Brian cares about this community. I’ve been all-in on the Spartan community for a while now, and was only introduced to GORUCK this January, but since then I’ve jumped in off the deep end with the rucking community as well. That’s led me to completing my first GORUCK Light and Tough, PATHFINDER Advanced, and Charity Challenges Summer Pull-Up Challenge. I’ve been listening to... more
For those who ruck or are interested in GORUCK, this is the gold standard. Would rate 6 stars. Find myself listening to some episodes multiple times.
Rucking? What the heck is THAT? If you are in any way curious about rucking—walking with a weighted backpack—you have found THE DEFINITIVE podcast. The show’s host, Brian, does a superb job in selecting guests, asking questions, guiding discussions, and getting great info to the listeners. The show is professionally edited and produced and is a treasure trove of knowledge for neophyte to vereran ruckers and GRTs and all in between. An information trove for the GORUCK community.
Love listening to this while out rucking. Thank you Brian for all you do!
As long time Rucker, I was thrilled to learn that there is an avenue to learn and celebrate the thing I enjoy while commuting, rucking or what have you. Brian brings a broad array of interviews to the table and always seems to elicit an amazing thread of conversation in the process. Thank you for this and keep up the great work!
Listening to interview with Tim Galloway talking about shadowing. Seems a bit preachy/ Señor GRT to me.. but whatever. He said he doesn’t know of “anybody who has shadowed an entire Heavy.” Well, plenty of the OG NORCAL GRTs have shadowed entire Heavies, myself included, on multiple occasions. It’s the only way to be there for the epic sunrise group photo! We used to have a pretty wild Shadow scene at San Francisco welcome parties, and no one got killed or hit by cars. Different era of GORUCK pe... more
So I was surfing Instagram and saw a hashtag that stuck out. A quick google search introduced me to a post cast about rucking.
Game changer.
I have now been listening for two day and have listened to more podcasts than I have, ever. It keeps me intrigued and I learn so much in every episode about, not only myself, but the rucking culture.
Great postcast. See you out there!
If you’re into Rucking this is the podcast for you. Brian does an amazing job as a host and expert in the rucking community. He rested to the guests without overpowering their stories with his own. You learn about the guest and Brian in many of the Interviews and it’s a great balance. Ya a conversational podcast which makes for a wonderful listen. I’m glad it’s not scripted, so even if it does go off topic or away from
Where you expect you’re drawn into a great story.

Everything you need to know about the training, mindset and gear it takes to complete any GoTuck events. Brian has great guests and goes deep to get their tips and the stories behind their stories. A must listen if you want to go deeper in rucking. Outstanding sound quality, too.
