As a young American, the most I’ve heard about Canada here in the states is vague statement about hockey, maple, and half-hearted threats to move up there near the tail end of each election. However, this podcast does an excellent job of showing that Canada does have a wonderful horror culture, at least when it isn’t pretending to be American. The hosts have great chemistry and the films selected range from genuine quality to pure entertainment. And no, I haven’t watched Scanner Cop yet, but wit... more
As a non-Canadian, I wasn’t expecting to find this as engaging as I do. However, I love hearing about lesser-known horror movies and this delivers on that front! I like that the takes are nuanced and not just your typical “angry review” style. I would recommend this to anyone who loves horror and would also like to know more about Canadian culture.
Adam and Sarah brilliantly point out the Canadian content of a wide selection of horror movies filmed in the Great White North, some of which are REALLY trying to look like they were shot in the United States and some that fully embrace their Canadian-ness. Like listening to two really smart friends shoot the breeze about movies they (usually) like, and an under-seen perspective in podcasting and film crit. Plus some fun running gags and repeat jokes. What more could you possibly want, people?

Sarah and Adam love their country, CanadiaLand, and they love its chief export—horror movies! Some of which are sort of good!
Their conversational style and obvious affection for the movies they cover make for good pod, and I always perk up for their selections of the most Canadian moments in the film.
But I’m probably still not not going to watch the cannibal film.
I am a huge horror fan and this podcast scratches that itch while being informative of our Canadian horror roots.Sarah and Adam have great on air chemistry together, Which makes for a real fun listen. Thank you for making these and keep it going!!
