  • Not worth the time listening

Probably one of the worst ice hockey podcasts around. Lack of knowledge about the game and a very negative outlook on just about everything. Far better hockey podcasts out there by people that have actually played the game.

  • Please sort the levels out

New to hockey and the podcast (Stars fan) found it interesting and informed but listening through headphones very annoying given the volume levels of different speakers.

Q: What does it mean to you personally to be cancer-free for life, and how has that shaped your view of the future in hockey and health advocacy?
Being cancer-free for life means continuing a disciplined lifestyle that supports long-term health, using the platform to help others through cancer survivorship, and staying actively involved in hockey and wellness initiatives that improve athletic performance and resilience.
Episode 205 - Joey Raats
Q: How did you approach recovery and what has your day-to-day life looked like since remission became a possibility?
Recovery has been a holistic process involving ongoing energy management, nutrition, targeted therapies, mentoring others, and building a business around wellness in sports; days include client support, gym work, and coordination of recovery practices and circadian rhythm optimization.
Episode 205 - Joey Raats
Q: What was the turning point that made you accept the seriousness of your condition and begin treatment?
The turning points were the neck lump detection, the diagnosis process, and the decision to undergo biopsy and surgery despite uncertainties, which led to starting a chemo protocol and the realization that immediate, aggressive treatment was necessary for survival.
Episode 205 - Joey Raats
Q: When you first started noticing symptoms, did you try to ignore them and push through because you were an athlete?
I did try to push through and explain things away as part of the normal aches of being an athlete, but my wife and eventually a doctor helped me realize I needed to seek proper medical evaluation rather than assuming it was simply fatigue or training injury.
Episode 202 - The Storm are going home
Q: What are the recruitment plans and fans' engagement strategies for next season?
Plans include ongoing recruitment efforts, two-season-ticket-holder events to let fans pick seats, and broader engagement with universities, schools, and the local community to grow the fanbase while keeping ticket prices frozen.
