これまで1年間、外国人観光客にあまり知られていない51か所のスポットをご紹介してきた「わくわく韓国、ディープな旅」。 最終回の今日は、51回にわたって「わくわく韓国、ディープな旅」を共にしてきた6人のツアーメイトたちが選んだハイライトをご紹介します。
今、2018平昌(ピョンチャン)冬季オリンピックで盛り上がっている江原道(カンウォンド)平昌郡(ピョンチャングン)。ここ平昌でもう一つ、韓国を代表する冬のイベントが開かれています。大関嶺(テグァンリョン)近辺を流れる川、松川(ソンチョン)界わいで繰り広げられる「第26回大関嶺雪花祭り」。氷と雪の彫刻作品、雪そり、氷の滑り台、伝統遊び体験など、楽しい冬の旅にでかけます。
韓国の北東部、江原道(カンウォンド)束草(ソクチョ)は魅力あふれる観光都市です。 韓国を代表する名山に数えられる雪岳山(ソラクサン)がそびえ、美しい2つの湖、永郎湖(ヨンランホ)と青草湖(チョンチョホ)もあります。 夜明け前から活気あふれる港、水平線を赤く染めて昇る太陽は束草をいっそう美しく彩ります。 冬の情趣が漂う束草への旅に出かけます。
江原道(カンウォンド)の東部、束草(ソクチョ)には他の地域では見られない特別な街があります。 韓国戦争当時、北韓の咸鏡道(ハムギョンド)地方から束草へ避難してきた人たちが集まって暮らしていたアバイ村です。 アバイ村が作られた地域が土砂が積もってできた小さな島で、戦前は誰も住んでいませんでした。 戦争で故郷を離れるしかなかった咸鏡道の避難民たちは、帰れない故郷を懐かしみながらここアバイ村に定着したのです。 今や束草を代表する観光スポットとなったアバイ村へ、ちょっと特別な旅に出かけます。
韓国の3大伝統アリランの一つ、旌善(チョンソン)アリランが誕生した江原道(カンウォンド)旌善(チョンソン)！ かつて、ここ旌善は「空も3坪、土地も3坪」と言われていました。高い山に囲まれた小さな山里、旌善からは空も少ししか見えないという意味です。 江原道(カンウォンド)の美しい自然が広がるアリランの里、旌善へ冬の旅に出かけます。
冬になると、全国のスキー場はおしゃれなスキーウェアを着てスキーやスノーボードを楽しむ人たちでにぎわいます。2018平昌(ピョンチャン)冬季オリンピックを間近に控え、ウィンタースポーツに対する関心が高まる中、韓国のスキー場はいっそう活気づいています。ソウルからのアクセスが便利な江原道(カンウォンド)のスキー場の一つ、洪川(ホンチョン)ビバルディ・パークで白銀のゲレンデを滑走する冬の旅に出かけます。
雪の多い江原道(カンウォンド)には雪と氷をテーマにしたさまざまなイベントが開かれています。中でも、2003年にスタートした華川(ファチョン)で開かれるヤマメ祭りは韓国を代表する冬のフェスティバルです。外国人観光客を含め、毎年100万人以上が訪れる華川ヤマメ祭りには冬ならではの楽しいイベントが繰り広げられます。凍った川でのヤマメ釣り、そり、氷上サッカー、スケートなど、韓国の冬がいっそう楽しくなる華川への旅に出かけます。
1970年代から80年代にかけて、韓国の経済成長を導いた炭鉱と鉱員。 目まぐるしく動いていた炭鉱は、時代の変化に伴って、機械は止まり、人々は離れていきました。 1964年にオープンし、産業化時代の中心としての役割を果たし、2001年に閉鎖された炭鉱が芸術空間「三炭(サムタン)アートマイン」に生まれ変わりました。 三炭アートマインを訪れ、炭鉱の歴史に触れ、廃坑で生み出される芸術作品の美しさを堪能します。
