Water of the week is three flavors of Singha: Yuzu Lemon, Red Lemon, and Lime Lemon.
Joakim is having a very hard time and there's nothing you can do about it. Water of the week is a bottle of Perrier from the strip club on Montecito St. Would it be rude to mention that the lady who sold me this water really needed a breath mint?
What happens in the mind of a small animal if you take away his home? What will the honeybee do if you separate him from the hive? What happens to the spider if you clean your house and destroy his cobweb? The duck without a pond? The ant without the... more

Love this guy.
This podcast really gets itself. Self awareness at its finest. Joakim is simultaneously charming, mysterious, and intellectually stimulating. This is highly relatable and human. I feel an urgent need to learn about Joakim’s favorite sparkling water (out of however many hundreds) this sommelier has tried. No stone will go unturned, from politics, to video games, to hot ladies at the gym, and most importantly - the fearless self-inventory. Brava.
Im writing this so far after the fact, but like… this is honestly a really good podcast. Joakim has a really great format here, and a perfect podcast voice (so soothing!). I appreciate the slice of life aspect of the guest and solo shows, and the Sparkling Water, Sparkling Mind segment is pure meditative gold. I look forward to this every week!!
I love Joakim’s take on life and ideas. I especially like it when he gets into culture, memories of living in China and Sweden and his outsider perspective on the USA through a Seattle lens.
