What a gem. The Talking Pictures Podcast is a great listen for anyone interested in photo journalism, photography, media, or the newspaper business. Authentic in every way, great midwestern sensibility on display here. Great in every way!
So I’m a photographer, but the way this podcast is set up they really get at the questions behind the photos and explore the stories, not the mechanics. Don’t get me wrong, they still talk shop, but most of the podcast is more for people who enjoy looking at photos, than for people who are out there making them. more
I'm intrigued by photojournalism so finding a local podcast focused on it is great. Keep up the good work I look forward to each new episode. One suggestion, slow up on the sound effects they get to be a little much.
It’s a great way to really hear and understand the lifestyles and personalities of the faces behind the cameras at a newspaper.
I found this podcast by luck I guess, but what great luck it was. I studied jounalism at Iowa State in the late 80s. While there I did some photojournalism, too. While I haven't pursued journalism since graduating, I am facinated by the hosts' stories and love that they live and work near me (Cedar Rapids).
