Excellent, insightful discussions! I always love podcasts where one can share perspectives and find common experiences. It is important to dig deep and see how one can practice spirituality while being part of the LGBTQ community. Faith is a tricky subject specifically in the context of LGBTQ, but this podcast gives forth a platform where you can voice your deeper understanding and critiques of the intersection of religion + LGBTQ.

  • An apple a day keeps you GAY!

Melissa and Pelayo thank you for sharing your love with the world. Your episodes are life giving and so important for our community. Growing up gay in an evangelical Christian church I was taught that I was not allowed to love. Being shamed into believing this lie drove me to numb myself through numerous addictions. Hitting rock bottom broke me open and began a process of healing and remembering who I was created to be. No matter what I do, no matter who I am, I can’t separate myself from ... more

  • Take a bite, take a bite...

I've learned so much listening to this podcast. I'm coming into my own spiritually, and have had a bumpy relationship with religion as a whole. The Forbidden Apple podcast has helped me learn about other queer experiences with religion and spirituality, and have opened my eyes (and ears) to so much. I've been keeping up with this podcast since Summer 2020, and it has definitely helped my healing around religious topics (as they relate to my life). Keep up this beautiful work, Pelayo and Melissa!... more

  • Really great experience listening

This is amazing! As a queer person trying to figure out my faith/spirituality and hearing the latest episode on astrology was really eye opening in understanding my own experiences and navigating that.
