A lot of ex players turned podcasters, pundits etc tend to ask long questions and refer constantly to their experience in the process. This effectively reduces the space for the interviewee. They have nowhere to go except to confirm or contradict the interviewer’s assertion. But Jim is showing a talent for leaving the question open - asking shorter ones so there’s more room to answer.
