In 1952 The New Yorker Magazine published an article about Chicago and mockingly titled “The Second City”. Who could have foreseen the irony that the publication that was started by and published the great wits of their day, Dorothy Parker, Alexander Woollcott, James Thurber and George S. Kaufman would end up christening the greatest incubator of comedy talent in show biz history? In 1959 on North... more

For our Season Two finale, Second City "Jack of all trades" Dave Razowsky talks with us about......nearly everything you can regarding The Second City. And with good reason, considering that Dave performed on the Northwest Stage as well as the ETC an... more
Rebecca Allen is part of a mounting pile of evidence that suggests the best thing to do at the Second City is to get sent away early on and brought back shortly afterwards which I would think gives one a sense of satisfaction (of course our host has ... more

It’s so refreshing to listen to a podcast where the interviewer not only is very knowledgeable about the subject, but also authentically interested in his guests and eager to learn more. more
Tried to listen, as I love Raz. Lordy Pete. Would have loved to hear from him. I then tried to listen to Susan Messing, as I love her too. I'm 10 minutes in and have heard maybe 4 sentences from SM. I do appreciate the conversational style of interviewing, and use it myself, but this dude is clearly in love with the sound of his own voice to a fault. It's a shame, as there's quite a list of fabulous guests, but I don't have enough time to listen to this dude yammer on. And on. And on.
Joe: big fan. Please keep it up. Also, well done. Open to feedback? Notes?
What I love about this podcast is that it’s so much different than your typical interview shows! Usually, the host will ask a question, sit back and listen with interest as the guests talk, sharing their own very personal and interesting stories. But not here! The host does almost all of the talking and the guests do a lot of listening. A lot.
What an awesomely appropriate podcast that pulls back the curtain on one of, if not THE, best comedy theaters in history.
