Mike Jay is a diehard track & field and cross country fanatic, and when it comes to his garage: it’s a shrine for those sports he loves. Surrounding his grandfather’s 1963 Chevy II are walls covered with memorabilia commemorating the events he has been a part of, signed gifts from athletes/coaches he adores, and press box signage he may or may not have snuck out of the venue in his bag. So, when it comes to a “studio” to host a track & field and cross county centered podcast – The Garage is the perfect spot! Whether you, too, are a T&F/XC fan, or someone wanting to know more about the folks involved in these sports: this podcast should be a great listen for you. We hope you enjoy the episodes we have to offer. Thanks for listening!

Paityn Noe was a two-time state cross country champion at Ballard High School. She will go after her 2nd 3,000 meter state title this spring and then take her talents to D1 powerhouse, Arkansas in the fall.
Jackson Heidisch won two state XC titles at Dowling Catholic and was 5th at NXN this fall. He will be chasing sub 4:00 mile this spring before heading to Duke.
Ford Washburn went sub 9:00 in the 3200 last spring, running 8:59 at the Drake Relays. The 3X top 10 finisher at state XC is going to take a shot at sub 8:50 this year before heading to D1 XC cream of the crop, Northern Arizona in the fall.
I love hearing Mike Jay’s voice during the interviews. I feel like I’m at the Drake Relsys every interview. My favorite has been with Alan Webb as a fellow Catholic Runner.
Tremendous. The insight on the ups and downs of Alan Webb’s running and life experiences and faith should help high school runners!
40 minutes with a convicted doper who had overwhelming evidence pointing toward guilt, and they couldn’t ask a single tough question. I was interested in hearing her side of things, but this interview convinced more of her guilt since the interviewers skirted all the tough issues. They must believe deep down she’s guilty and wouldn’t have the answers, otherwise they would have given her a true chance to defend herself.
The Shelby houlihan episode was just 2 creepy fanboys giving a convicted cheater a platform to tell blatant lies. They ate it right up. This podcast is bad for the sport.
The first two interviews of this podcast have been really great. I was really into the newest episode with two Paralympians. Excited for more to come. Audio is perfect too!
