  • This was the second episode old mate talks about the armour as if it's plate, when that doesn't exist yet. They worn chain mail in 1st crusade, this only protects against slashing attacks and an goes straight through it. more

  • in the book "The Immortality Key" there was a fair bit of talk about drinking one's self to death, seemed to happen a fair bit in the ancient world although didn't talk about medieval. People died from the fun addatives they seemingly deliberately put in (like ergot which is a poisonous fungus with LSD in it), not the alcohol content. Dosage was difficult, they had to make the beer from a mix of infected and not infected grain.
