I’m obsessed with this podcast! I’m a public historian so I love history, but I’ve also been an avid diarist since I was 6, have my own small collection of historic diaries, and have followed Sally’s Diaries for years on Facebook and Instagram and kept up with the blog when it was active. Sally and Jeff are entertaining, knowledgeable, passionate, and respectful of the people whose stories they share, and they do a wonderful job of telling these stories in engaging ways. I would love to see them... more
These are truly interesting episodes. Seems like Vic is too young and Bennington too far from Boston and New York to be mob connected. But, we will find out, I suppose. Good and entertaining. Thanks.
First episode was mostly hosts chatting, not what I expected. Good stories but not much exerpts from the diaries.
I enjoyed the first four episodes and am looking forward to more! I listen to many hours of podcasts each week and thought the audio and production quality were great. As if the podcast had been around for years. If there were more episodes, I’d still be listening right now. :)
The first two episodes leave us wanting more. We started searching the Internet for clues as to the diarist’s identity— Jack London, Stephen Crane, Robert Louis Stevenson, maybe T E Lawrence? The podcast is easy listening, clear voices, and reminded me of listening to story tellers on the old tube radio with my sister decades ago. Listening at its best.
