I’m a 42 year old native southern Californian who has had the great fortune of traveling and spending a considerable amount of time each year for the entirety of my life traveling in Baja and mainland Mexico with my parents, my grandparents, and now my husband. This podcast did a great job in talking about the crime and the corruption (which exists everywhere by the way), but even more I appreciated the stories of friendship, culture and pride in the face of adversity and hardship. I JUST finished listening and this podcast was EXCELLENT! The way Sandra describes EVERYTHING in this podcast makes you feel like you are right there in her world. The environment, friendships, the danger, how the streets look and feel, the look of the city and it’s surroundings, her pain, her accomplishments…it was just wonderful. This is so much more than a crime podcast. Though every episode touches on the underworld of Tijuana, it offers so much more. It’s also a commentary on friendship, purpose, home, food, music, and the rich culture just across the border. Highly recommend this podcast - it’s intriguing, fascinating, and filled with great storytelling.
