People have kicked around Beatles vs. Stones arguments since the dawn of the discourse. This podcast takes that conversation to its logical conclusion, even if it means grinding it into dust. Hosts Justin Cox and Ryan Page pit years’ worth of Beatles and Rolling Stones records against each other, one year at a time, starting in ’64 and ending in ’74. We’ll trade off defending bands from one week t... more

We said we'd do an extra episode when the Peter Jackson documentary came out and that day arrived over the long weekend. Justin hid a camera in a flower pot and sat down with Ryan to see what he thought of it. more
In this bonus episode Justin and Ryan talk to Andy Cush (@cushac) of Pitchfork and the Late Era podcast, which looks at albums released by gigantic bands and artists in the late, often bad, sometimes good, almost always amusing, parts of their career... more
In this celebratory finale episode, Justin Cox and Ryan Page look at 1974 and the decades of releases that followed. After that, they run through a minefield of categories (John or Paul? Best/worst album cover? Fun stuff like that). They end the seri... more

Thank you for such a brilliant and insightful podcast. Your general knowledge and thought provoking insights really made me think about these two iconic bands. This podcast has given a deeper understanding of how these two bands shaped and evolved music.
Really enjoyable podcast. Great job by the guys! Having obsessed over both bands at different times since the mid 70s, I found their takes on the albums thought provoking. Inspired me to re-ignite my passion for both bands. Very bummed that the podcast is concluded but listening and rocking to stuff I haven’t for years. Thank you!!
For a guy born in 1980, this podcast format provides a historical context that I did not experience firsthand. I’ve always loved the music, but I first heard the songs on radio and mp3. I didn’t experience them as albums. And I didn’t experience them in chronological order or with any context of what was happening in rock music during the year each album was released. This podcast provides all of that and more. I truly appreciate these two bands more now than ever. Buckle your seatbelt and hop ... more
This is the usually most boring and overdone argument in the history of rock music. But I love the format, and breaking it down by year and trying to make it an even debate. Not to mention, they make it almost exclusively about the music. Not the standard arguments that the Beatles had a bigger impact vs the Stones being cooler. Pound for pound, album for album. Really breaking down and analyzing it.
Love the format and draft of each years albums. Really looking forward to the battle of these two iconic bands.
